The Cherwell Hospital Spine & Neck Services
We offer expert advice and treatment for chronic back pain

Back pain is very common. It’s most often experienced in the lower back, called the lumbar region. It can be very painful and sufferers may experience tension, soreness, stiffness and difficulty in moving. It can last just a few days or it can continue for many months or years. Often back pain is called non-specific back pain as there is no specific problem or disease that can be identified to its cause. Back pain can also develop in association with a number of causes, such as muscle strain, muscle disorders for example arthritis, fractures and pressure on a nerve root that may be the result of poor posture, bending awkwardly, back trauma, ageing or disease.

If your back pain becomes chronic, lasting for six weeks, then it’s important to seek medical advice. Back pain that’s treated early allows you to manage it properly and reduces the likelihood of the symptoms persisting. The Cherwell Hospital offers excellent advice, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment options for back pain
